Sompamitwong Awarded Initiators Fellowship

"Being a dreamer is hard, especially when you don't get the support," says Suree Sompamitwong.

"Luckily, I've had mentors that are very supportive."

The social advocate and founder of Creative Healing Space in Worthington, Minn., is one of nine social entrepreneurs in the Southwest Initiative Foundation's 2024-25 Initiators Fellowship program, which aims to empower social entrepreneurs through comprehensive programming, executive mentoring, leadership training, and financial support to foster the growth of mission-driven businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Over two years, each fellow will receive a $30,000 annual stipend and benefit from the support of dedicated staff members to help scale their initiatives, reports the St.

Paul Pioneer Press.

Sompamitwong will receive tailored executive coaching and educational opportunities to enhance her leadership and nonprofit management skills.

Sompamitwong's enterprise, Creative Healing Space, offers a sanctuary for community members to engage in creative activities and foster connections as part of their healing journey.

Her ultimate goal is to establish a healing center incorporating various therapeutic modalities.
